IT Infrastructure Analyst
Summary of the role:
- Management of a technical support team with the following responsibilities:
- Server setup and configuration
- Storage setup
- Network patching
- Server software updates and patching
- User password management
- Monitoring of server room infrastructure
- Application support for perforce and other production management tools
- Backup and recovery processes
- Network configuration (under guidance)
- Technical support accountability for:
- Server setup and configuration
- Management of virtualised server environments
- Server software update and patching
- Storage management (SAN, NAS and direct attached)
- Server performance monitoring and remediation
- Management of backup and recovery processes
- Network setup, patching and configuration using Cisco and Ciso alike technologies
- Management and monitoring of network health
- Management of data centre health
- Network and server integrity and security – including monitoring, patching and remediation
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is for the day to day management and control of all technical IT infrastructure supporting WWS business.
- Management of a team of junior technical analysts
- Collaborative working with a team of peers across the European and wider WWS organisation to identify and share best practice
- Implementation of infrastructure upgrade projects
- Pro-active management and administration of servers, storage and network capacity
- Day to day management of infrastructure configuration
- Monitoring security and implementing required patches and remediation
- Being fully conversant with and following IT and information security policy and guidance
- Awareness of business continuity processes, PDITE calling tree and security incident response processes
- Ensure that support responsibilities are dispatched in compliance with security policy and within GISP guidelines
- Utilisation of formal incident, problem, change and release processes
Experience needed:
- 3 years experience of server technologies, Windows, Linux and Mac
- Management of Active Directory / LDAP and other authentication schemas
- Cisco network technology experience
- Server hardware technologies
- SAN, NAS and storage management technologies
- Server backup processes and technology
- Infrastructure project implementation experience – up to a budget of 500k
- Management of 1 – 6 staff
- LAN and building network cabling services
- Backup and data recovery processes, management and configuration
- Wireless networking
- Application support (Perforce and other Studio production tools)
